3 Simple Steps to Get Streak-Free Windows

1. Remove Stubborn Stains From the Window Panes Using Window Scrapers

Before you bring your cleaning kit to the scene, it is essential you prepare the window by removing stubborn stains such as birds’ droppings, paint, and marks. For this, you will need a simple scrapper. Hold the scraper at a 45-degree  angle to the glass and gently press it to remove the stains. Remember to only use window scrapers since they are soft on the panes and do not leave behind ugly scratch marks.

2. Use Our Simple Cleaning Recipe

At this stage, use anything you want to clean your window, but we recommend our smart homemade window cleaning solution. Mix white vinegar with warm water at a ratio of 1:1, add 15 ml of liquid dish soap per gallon of the mixture, and funnel all the ingredients to a spray bottle. Shake well before using it.

Spray the mixture to the window, followed by a gentle scrub using a sponge or a microfiber towel. Repeat the process until you are done with the first window. A microfiber towel is best for impeccably cleaning windows because it produces shiny, streak-free windows.

3. Rinse and Wipe the Window Dry for Streak-Free Windows

After scrubbing your window with our homemade cleaning solution, it is time to rinse it. Also, using a clean microfiber towel, dip it in distilled water, squeeze out excess water, and wipe out the soap from the panes. Repeat the process until no more soap is visible on the window. Distilled water is perfect for rising because it is not only super clean but also lacks streak-causing calcium compounds found in hard or rainwater.

Finish off your windows by wiping them dry. To achieve this, use a small squeegee that will reach the corners while removing all traces of water.
